Hiro Murai was born in Tokyo, Japan. He moved to Los Angeles, CA when he was 9 years old. Thirteen years later Hiro graduated from the USC School of Cinema. Hiro has been making art ever since his thumbs were able to grip a pencil, a paintbrush, or a video camera. A true renaissance man, Hiro’s videos reflect a painter’s attention to detail and his paintings are emboldened with the liveliness of cinema. Whether it be illustration, design, photography, or film, Murai’s work is instantly recognizable for its uniquely wry, if not slightly twisted, brand of charm that only Hiro could create. Hiro signed to Partizan in 2008 and has directed videos for the Willowz, Bloc Party, Raphael Saadiq, and most recently, the no1 hit video for B.O.B featuring Hayley Williams 'Airplanes'. |
